CAD: Three Bits of Inventive Information for Autodesk Inventor ...

We look at some recent Autodesk Inventor 2010 information.

Among the items that slipped right past us last week was a good bit of information for Autodesk Inventor. We hate to admit it, but since we are not Inventor users information for this CAD package sort of falls on the back burner more often than we would like. While we do not use Inventor, there are millions of other CAD professionals in the world who do. Therefore, we want to be sure to list some great articles that we have recently received.

Autodesk Inventor 2010Autodesk Inventor 2010 ...

First, there is a hotfix for Autodesk Inventor 2010 SP1 (Update 1). Some users who have installed Service Pack 1 for Autodesk Inventor have been experiencing unexpected application shutdowns. The problem seems to center around the act of saving the .DWG file with an “Iso Top Left” view[port]. We are sure that this hotfix is going to alleviate quite a bit of frustration for users who have been suffering from this issue.

Next, we have another hotfix for Autodesk Inventor 2010. According to the Services and Support page, some users have experienced suppressed assembly features in iAssembly factory after migration. Application of this hotfix should remedy this issue for afflicted users.

As always, we recommend that you read the accompanying ReadMe file for these, or any, hotfixes. There you will find complete information and installation for the download. Also, be sure that you are downloading the correct version of these or any download. Like many Autodesk updates and hotfixes, these hotfixes are available for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Autodesk Inventor 2010.

Finally, there is another fascinating bit coming out of Autodesk Labs. Users of Autodesk Inventor will now be able to take advantage of new direct and parametric capabilities within one digital model using Autodesk Inventor Fusion. This technology preview (read that as “beta”) is available for immediate download and will not expire until June 1, 2010. We wish would could elaborate more on the matter, but we are not able to. Luckily, for us, Autodesk has a video demonstration for your viewing enjoyment.

That will end our big bag of Autodesk Inventor goodness. Writing about this CAD application gets our curiosity fired up and makes us want to download a demo version. We think we could invent some world conquering goodness here at the Kung Fu Dojo. However, the reality of the matter is that we will probably just go play more Arkham Asylum
