Video: From Alice to Cthulhu, Creepy Videos for Halloween '09 ...
We bring you two creepy videos to celebrate Halloween '09.
Ok so we missed the Halloween fun last week. The fact of the matter is that there is some important birthday action happening here at Kung Fu Drafter at the end of October/beginning of November. Just to show our readers what good sports we are about the whole matter we are going to bring you some creepy themed videos to celebrate that today is Friday. So put on your Halloween costume one last time and get ready for the spooking to begin.
Our first video features one of the most gruesome characters in literary history. Seriously, few names that can instantly conjure images of destruction and evil like that name Cthulhu. For almost 100 years horror and fantasy, lovers have marveled at H.P. Lovecraft’s creation with mixed fear and admiration. The mythos he created spawned an entire era of outer dimension horror that was just unimaginable. Since his original appearance in Lovecraft’s writings Cthulhu and his gang of super-evil heroes have gone on to appear in countless tales. Now we are happy to present to you Zachary Murray’s interpretation of the Great Old One. Well sort of.
Ok so maybe The Adventure of Lil’ Cthulhu was a bit too cutesy for you. Our second spooky animation is a bit more disturbing. In October of 2000 American McGee (no, really that is his name) released the sleeper hit “Alice”, a horror-adventure game based on Lewis Carroll’s novel. That alone ought to be enough to give you the creeps. With characters like the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts how could the concept of being immersed in that world not be creepy? Well it was. Now fast forward nine years and fans of the original game are anxious for information on the sequel. Much like Carroll in 1871, McGee plans his own trip Through the Looking Glass for more adventure in Wonderland with his modern Alice. So when an eerily creepy stop-motion animation trailer appeared on the internet plenty of people were ready to believe it was the work of American McGee. Alas, such was not the case. This superb trailer, created as an advertising pitch, is the work of Troy Morgan and not American McGee’s team at Electronic Arts. What a pity, we were excited and ready to by the game.
Well there you have it, two creepy videos for this first Friday after Halloween. Ok so maybe they were not very creepy but to fair, it is not Halloween anymore. So go eat some of that left over candy and just be happy with what you have. If you did not enough candy to have some around a week later then maybe you need a better costume next year …
