General: Our Gift Giving List Palooza Post ...

We share some of our favorite gift giving lists from around the net.

It is that time of the year again when we all set aside our daily pursuits and look for the good in the hearts of our fellow man as well as our own. We focus less on the rat race and more on the fireplace waiting for Santa to scurry down and deposit presents. No doubt, our readers have noticed the slow-down in postings as we join the yearly festivities by preparing the Kung Fu Dojo for Santa’s landing party. However, it is not all fun and games, there is also shopping to be done. After all, those gifts don’t grow on trees. Not even the fruitcakes.

So today we are going to look at some of the great gift giving lists that have been popping up around the internet lately. Since it is almost the eleventh hour before the first day of Christmas time is short! If our readers are anything like we are, and we know you are, there are still plenty of naughty little names on the list that don’t have checks by them yet. So, unless you plan on giving checks as gifts, you had better pay close attention to these four lists of gifts we think would be great for the CAD professional or professional Geek on your lists.

We love this joke at Windows' expense ...

First, we have the fantastically assembled list from the Switched blog. If you have never been to Switched before then you are missing what may be the jewel in the Weblogs Inc Network of professional blogs. Just look at 70 under $70 to see the kind of quality streaming out of this fountain of webby goodness. We loved so many of the gift ideas on this affordable list. From the Black on Black Tie to the CTRL + ALT + DEL Cup Set we just couldn’t decide what our favorite was. We feel safe in saying that the drafter or geek in your life will love just about anything off this list!

Get your Geek some geeky stuff ...Our next list of “Save your holiday butt” ideas comes from the good people at Mashable. We like to think that our readers are some of the smartest on the net, so we are sure you have all heard of Mashable. It is no surprise that these socially oriented technosists have a list of ideas for the social media maven in your life. Their list, 10 Great Digital Gifts for Social Media Lovers, offers some great ideas that probably fell under the radar of the average gift buyer. We’d like to recommends Dropbox for the CAD professional in your life. We’ve used this fantastic service for quite a while and it is endlessly useful. For the Geek in your life, we pick Newegg gift cards. Come on, what Geek couldn’t use some new kit for Christmas? For everyone in between you can’t wrong with iTunes or Netflix!

Geeky fashion at its best ...

What’s that you say? You have someone on your list who is obsessed with social technology? Can’t get them to stop tweeting you say? Well do we have a list for you! Once again, Mashable is here to save your Christmas! Their 15 Ways to Shop for the Twitter Obsessed list is perfect for you. Whether you pick some wear ware from one of the many Twitter stores or one of those books to help the Twitter-impaired step into 2008, this list has something for you. In this particular case, we recommend that you give our email address to any lady receiving the Follow Me Stockings. Hey, we need gifts too!

Last, but not least, are our own lists! That is right; Kung Fu Drafter is going to help you in your last minute shopping with our Stuff We Like sections. Just click on the link in the header section and you will be able to view lists of our favorite books, movies and games. We think that anything here would make a great gift for the CAD professional in your life. We know because that is what we are and we love it all. We have officially endorsed everything on this list as “awesome”!

So there you go, a few lists to help those late shoppers out there get their Christmas gift-giving act together. Of course the best part about all of this is that everything on these lists (ours included) you can order online! How great is that? You can finish your shopping as soon as you like. That will leave 2.5 days for you to relax and read your favorite blog. You know the one …
