Videos: Boyfriends, Star Wars, and Office 2010 Just Add Water ...

It's time again for us to share some of our favorite online videos with you.

It’s hard to believe that another week has come to an end. It seems like it was just four days ago that the work week began. Yet here we are again, time for some Friday video fun. But before we get to this week’s videos we’d like to take a moment to say that not all of the videos we select for our Friday afternoon delight are “deep”. We’ve been lucky enough to have selected some pretty moving and provoking pieces in past posts. But the truth is that we love all kinds of video, even the dumb ones. Especially the dumb ones. So with no further delay let’s get to this week’s videos.

 Over the past few months we’ve been getting more and more leads that take us to CollegeHumor.com’s website. While not all of the video’s there are ... good, there are some real gems in the mix. A prime example of which is this week’s first video “N00b Boyfriend”. Normally we don’t click on anything that has l337 speak in the title. But we are glad we did! This video had us laughing like morons, especially in the last second (no spoilers) when the guy is using Liquid Paper on his monitor. This short original is definitely worth a forward to any MMO geek you know.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is Bioware's MMO ...

Our second video reinforces our love for game trailers. Readers of this blog know what suckers we are for great game trailers from previous posts. But this is a trailer Star Wars: The Old Republic stands out among the best. As any self respecting geek (even the Trekkies) knows, in the Star Wars universe there is a long running discord between the Sith and the Jedi. Said geeks will also know that this is the basis for Bioware’s much anticipated MMO which most gamers simply refer to as TOR. This single four minute cinematic is better than Lucas’ pathetic prequel installments of the Star Wars saga. To us here at Kung Fu Drafter this is proof positive that Lucas’ time is over. The creation has outgrown its creator and he should let more talented people take the reins. If you watch the TOR trailer and don’t want to line up for the game we think you should have your geek status reviewed by the National Council on Geekdom.

Office 2010: The Movie. Too bad it isn't real ...

Our last trailer for the week is really something pretty special. Not only is this a humorous and fairly well done short film about a software product, it was done by Microsoft. That is right; the company with no soul turns out to have a funny bone. Office 2010: The Movie proves this little known fact. We have to admit we almost wish this utterly ridiculous action drama trailer were for a real movie because it looks better than the normal Hollywood refuse. Unfortunately this two minute video is just excellent viral marketing. None the less, we watched it a couple of times and now we are spreading the virus. That and we are glad Clippy is dead.

So there you have it. Another week is done and filed away in the cabinet of the past and three more videos for your viewing pleasure. We hope you enjoy this week’s light hearted selections. Sure they may not be award winning but they are fun to view. If the other blogs you read aren’t giving you something fun to see everyone once in a while, we are sorry. But as Mr. Leet says in our first video, “We don’t date n00bs, we pwn them!” ...
