Geek: Some of Our Favorite Online Comics ...

We look at some of the online comics that brighten our days.

Here at Kung Fu Drafter all work and no play makes us mad because we are always at work and don’t get to play. We assume that our readers are the same and have to put in the hard hours also. That is why we are going to share one of our favorite work-place pressure relievers. When the going gets tough and we start to make diabolical plans, we turn to the internet.

Ah, the internet: Teacher, mother, secret lover, and keeper of the best comics known to man. Here at Kung Fu Drafter we do love to sit back occasionally and peruse the best the net has to offer. Below is a list of some of our favorite online comic sites. First a word of warning: while we consider all of these comics hilarious, some do have adult language. Be your own judge of what is appropriate and what is not.

Little Gamers ...Little Gamers by Madsen & Pontus – Strong Language
This has to be one of our favorite online comics of all time. Drawn by Christian Fundin and Pontus Madsen strip has been going strong for nearly 10 years! That is a whole big bunch of online effort. These adorable little characters are hardcore gamers and part-time … other stuff. Be careful, their language will offend the weak at heart.

Savage Chickens ..Savage Chickens by Doug Savage
This is a great single panel comic featuring chickens with a silly streak. Whether they are at work or relaxing at home, the chickens are great! We also love how all of the entries look like they were drawn on Post-It notes. In fact, the subtitle for the site is “Cartoons on Sticky Notes”. Doug Savage's work never fails to make us smile. This is a definite must bookmark. Well it is if you are a fan of funny fowl.

Extra Life ...Extra Life by Scott Johnson
This comic strip features some great art of character living the life of working geeks. Covering topics from movies to Star Trek to video games Scott Johnson’s Extra Life is published regularly and a study in nerdom. If you enjoy the comic be sure to check out the podcast by the same name. Scott Johnson and his cohost duo will entertain you the way only an online cartoonists can.

Pearls Before Swine ...Pearls Before Swine by Stephen Pastis
While Pearls Before Swine is a more mainstream comic we definitely think that it deserves to be on any list of favorite comics. We adore the cast of characters from Rat to Pig to Drama Cow. However, our favorite characters of all are the crocs. If you love nutty, wholesome comics that will make you wet your pants then this daily comic has to be bookmarked. Bookmark it now!

We may not know art, but we know what makes us laugh. While some people may say that comics are the lowest form of artistic expression, we admire the continuity and skill of all these artists.
