Earlier in the year, we posted our list of New Year resolutions for the world to see. One of the most important items on that list was to “post with more regularity”. So what is going on? Why did we break that resolution so soon? Things do seem to have come to a halt here at Kung Fu Drafter, doesn’t it? Well that is partially true.

There is no way around the fact that the Kung Fu Dojo has been beset by a low-lying cloud of unproductive funk. It seems that when we took some time off during the 2009 holidays we broke the spell of creative flow. There is no lying that we have had some difficulty getting our blogging act back together. That is something that we are trying very hard to remedy. However, in the midst of all this getting nothing done we realized something most interesting.

What we noticed was that the traffic numbers for Kung Fu Drafter did not hit rock bottom as expected. In fact, while traffic had fallen from all time highs, month over month traffic has risen compared to December 2009. At first, we thought that it was a fluke, but the pattern maintained. Further examination of the analytics showed us that traffic to posts in the archive had spike enormously! With each post, intermittent as it may have been, the traffic spiked but gained and maintained approximately 10%.

This information is nothing less astonishing to us and we realize precisely who is responsible. So we here at Kung Fu Drafter would like to thank our fantastic and loyal readers. Your continued traffic through our period of low productivity has done nothing less than recharge our batteries. While the posts have been slow, we have been busy behind the scenes.

We are currently working to bring guest writers to Kung Fu Drafter to add content that is both specialized and enormously informative. We are also working to tighten the code that runs this blog in order to make the performance better for every visitor. Lastly, we are working to spread the name of Kung Fu Drafter around the internet so we can gain the traffic needed to make our presence even better!

We are grateful our readers have not forgotten us through these slow weeks. We also want all of our readers to know that we have not forgotten about you. Soon Kung Fu Drafter will be again producing the CAD and Geek posts that we have all come to enjoy and begin rolling out new features and contributors. So many thanks to all of you. You have certainly reminded us why we began Kung Fu Drafter …
