Special: Do You Want to Be a Published CAD Writer ...
Are you a CAD professional using AutoCAD? Do you have knowledge and wit spilling out of your ears? Are you ready to be a published writer in a magazine written by Autodesk end users for Autodesk end users? Then this is your lucky day!
Kung Fu Drafter’s very own editor-in-chief, Curt Moreno, also happens to be the AutoCAD Content Manager for AUGIWorld. And he is looking for writers to contribute for the 2012/2013 editorial calendar! This is your chance to show the world what you know, get your name in print, and rub it in the face of that guy down the hall.
What Does It Take
Are you wondering what it takes to be an AUGIWorld contributor? What sort of skills and talents and deals with the devil must you have? Well here is the checklist of what we are looking for:
- A passion for AutoCAD.
- The ability to explain yourself.
- Experience in the subject you’re writing about.
- The willingness to be part of a great publication!
That’s it! If you are a CAD professional, working with AutoCAD on a daily basis, then you are a shoe-in. All you have to do is decide which topic is best suited to your particular interests and background.
What Do I Write About
What’s that? You say you have all four qualities, but you don’t know what you would write about. Let us tell you, picking a topic to write about has to be 60% of the work of writing. Trust us, it is NOT easy. No wait, it’s a breeze! The editorial staff of AUGIWorld has already chosen article themes for the 2012/2013 calendar. All you have to do is pick one of the items listed here:
| May 2012 – Implementation | November 2012 – Education & Training |
| June 2012 – 3rd Party | December 2012 – Industry Insights |
| July 2012 – Management | January 2013 – Advancement |
| August 2012 – Collaboration | February 2013 – Beginner |
| September 2012 – Free Choice | March 2013 – Tips & Tricks |
| October 2012 – Customization | April 2013 – What’s New from Autodesk |
How Do I Start
Ok, let’s do this thing and make you famous in the CAD world! Send an email to Curt Moreno (kfd(a)kungfudrafter.com and introduce yourself. Let him know a little about you and which topic you are interested. Topics are assigned on a best fit / first come, first serve basis so act fast!
What’s In It for Me
You can do it ...What’s in it for you? Lots of stuff. You will be a printed author! You will show your boss and coworkers that you have valuable skills and experience! You can beef up that LinkedIn resume! You will be able to mention your blog, website, or product in the short biography at the end of your article! And you will be the awesome, just like us!
Don’t let this opportunity pass you by and don’t let fear cause you hesitation. If you are paid to do CAD, you are a CAD professional. If you are a CAD professional then not only can you do this, you owe it to yourself to do it! Remember, your kung fu is strong …
