Video: Three Excavator Videos We Had to Dig Deep to Find …
The week is nearly over and what a week it has been. We’re feeling pretty wiped out around the dojo. If you are wondering why just check out the monstrous weekly roundups of Autodesk and Dassault Systémes news we put up this week. That is enough to wear anyone out! So we thought a treat was in order.
That’s right, it’s video time here at Kung Fu Drafter. Long time readers already know that we LOVE online videos. But what you may not know is that we have always wanted to drive big construction machinery! Specifically speaking, we want to feel the power of running an excavator. Does that sound like a theme or what? So … let’s go already!
Tiny Mighties
Our first video has been making the rounds just recently and stars some tiny celebrities. No this excavator isn’t the Tonka Toys model you played with as a child. This bad … er little … boy is part of Joe’s “Lil’ Giants Construction Co.” and has been tearing up his basement since 2005!
Mighty Skilled
What we want to know is where did Joe get those awesome toys? If we had some of those around the dojo we could totally practice to get our skills up to par. We might even get as good as the driver in this next video. Well, probably not …
Skilled Giants
Ok, so he can stack bottles. Can he make an omelet or paint a picture with that thing? Pft, we didn’t think so. So, stacking bottles might be neat and all, but art requires the soul of an artist. In fact we’ve often stopped to watch construction on big sites and admired the ballet of activity. Of course, we’ve never actually seen this sort of excavator ballet in person.
Digging Down Deep
So yeah, that is our collection of excavator videos and our deep dark excavator secret. We know that our readers must surely aspire to similar goals. What sort of large machinery have you always dreamt of operating? Leave a comment to let us know! The bigger, the better!
As for us, one day we will find someone insane enough to let us get behind the controls of a PC5500 or something. That will probably have happened about one hour before you hear news flashes about a crazed blogger run amuck on construction equipment, destroying downtown parks. Film at 11 …

Those are some powerful amazing machines. Very cool videos. I hope to be that good someday at it.
They really are amazing contraptions. It's always been a fantasy of our to get behind the controls of an excavator and tear some stuff up. Of course we also have another excavator related fantasy that is more like Godzilla stomping through Tokyo. Can you imagine the sort of mayhem that one of those bad boys could cause if someone were to go rambling through downtown on a drunken, rage induced bender?
You know ... not that we would ... ever have rage ...
